Following a performance on Country Music themed ‘American Idol’ night Tuesday that did anything but evoke a positive remark on his vocal from all the three judges, the inevitable happened.
Randy Jackson said, “That was just like Karaoke…vocally it just wasn’t good at all…”
No one had a problem understanding what Paula Abdul meant when she said, “We are watching someone who loves adversity…but the vocals were….”
Simon Cowell, in an expression that is very British, said just two words, “Utterly horrendous!”
Nothing helped Sanjaya enough when America voted – not his hairstyle, not the ire of viewers directed against the caustic tongued Simon, not Votefortheworst.com and not shock jock Howard Stern.
Simon, who had vowed to quit American Idol if Sanjaya was to go on and win it, gets to keep his job.

I haven’t been watching this season, but I feel for this guy. He apparently had enough talent to get him into the top twelve and it’s not his fault some mean spirited types voted to keep him around just for a laugh. He’s taken a lot of abuse for a kid.

No, he wasn’t a particuraly good singer, but I genuinly looked forward to his performances every week. I prefer him to ALL of the other guys put together.
