Sheryl Crow wants global restrictions on using toilet paper in an attempt to save the environment.
The 45-year-old rocker, who is touring American colleges to raise awareness about global warming, has told students to only use “one square per restroom visit”.
She says, “I have spent the better part of this tour trying to come up with easy ways for us all to become a part of the solution to global warming. Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating. I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting.”
Something tells me autograph signings and one-on-one fan meetings will drastically decrease in numbers once news of this gets out.

Are you serious? How can you only use one square?
Comment by Erica April 23, 2007 @ 5:01 pmYou have to assume she’s talking using one square after she’s been for pee. Otherwise it’s safe to say Sheryl Crow stinks of shit.
Comment by Simon April 23, 2007 @ 5:07 pmYeah… as she rides on her tour bus , 3 tractor trailors and jets!!! you know she is blowing hot air out her arse! How in the hell can using 1 damn square of paper save the world!??
Comment by the voice April 23, 2007 @ 5:25 pmshe is a retard
A more realistic option is to not flush each time (after urination). So much water is wasted to send just 50 milliliters to the sewer. Switching to recycled paper for towel paper is another option.
Comment by Pin April 23, 2007 @ 5:37 pmthere are toilet seats that’ll take care of your ass and completely without several evil toilet paper squares warming up the climate. i guess they work with steam (or something like that) and then blow dry the buttocks.
Comment by peep April 23, 2007 @ 5:40 pmpeople, at least take a look a that blog first. Fox who launched this press thingie didn’t and made fools of themselves, as always. That’s taken from a joke blog.
Comment by jd April 23, 2007 @ 5:44 pmWho’s the retard for just believing anything?
This silly “one tissue thing” is being used by the FOX network to make fun of environmental damage reduction strategies. It is a pity American people are led more by silly sensationalism than real facts or real solutions from our “leaders”.

Comment by dottcomm1 April 23, 2007 @ 5:54 pmShe couldn’t have said that, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard all week.
Comment by lolly April 23, 2007 @ 6:59 pmShe said it!!! Fox was reporting on the absurdity. What’s w/the Fox Derangement Sydrome??? lol
Comment by LC April 23, 2007 @ 7:07 pmShe actually said that if we all used one LESS square of toilet paper, we could conserve alot of paper, which I’m sure is true. Fox dredged this up for their own publicity because Rove had a tizzy that Crow tried to talk to him about the environment and his disregard for it.

ooohhh…that sounds rather nice! lol
And dottcomm – thanks you just made me spit water on my keyboard! lol…”I don’t have a square to spare!”
Comment by starr April 23, 2007 @ 8:25 pmSheryl Crow reminds me of some one who would only use a single sheet of toilet paper not matter hog big the mess.
Comment by Anonymous April 23, 2007 @ 9:34 pmmaybe she can lick the shit out of my ass? that’s environmental.
Comment by dakota's left nipple April 23, 2007 @ 11:10 pmCome on, are you all reading the same article as me? She was clearly joking around.
Comment by louise April 23, 2007 @ 11:11 pmits obvious she didn’t really say that about the one square. but she’s probably saying don’t overuse it.
Comment by ryan April 24, 2007 @ 1:52 amthank god for people like her using her celebrity to encourage others to stop global warming, and raise money for it.
and yeah she uses tour buses, but they have to use that to tour with! too much equipment and too many people not to use those!!!
Eh, I have no problem with the tour bus thing. People have to get to work in various ways… and what with lugging around a crew and equipment, a tour bus is the way to go. However, I think using private jets is completely frivolous and unnecessary. Like gblinda said, I’m pretty sure Sheryl said to use one *less* square of toilet paper, at the very least.
Comment by Aysla April 24, 2007 @ 2:31 amIf I have to take a big dump and wipe with 1 toilet paper square….It would not be a pretty sight….could you imagine walking down the street in nyc or la seeing poop stained pants or dresses because some multi millionair I cannot hold onto a guy if I try tells us to use one square?
Comment by Some-1-U-Know April 24, 2007 @ 2:47 amher tour buses run on bio fuel!!!
ARASTO: i’m getting progressively salty with you; maybe it’s just this temporary site design, but you are really snarky lately! you of all gossip bloggers should stick up for *ahem* certain causes! i would have thought you would have defended sheryl on this one, and not followed along like a FOX (FAUX) patsy/dupe.
Comment by lolly April 24, 2007 @ 3:34 amOne square is a little drastic but she has got a point I guess. I always really admire people who work to help the environment because I think it often doesn’t get the attention that it deserves.
Comment by Stephi April 24, 2007 @ 9:31 amNot everyone who thinks Sheryl Crow is a twit is a FOX news dupe. I am very liberal and support environmental causes but her lifestyle is very wasteful and decadent from an environmental pov, I get sick of celebrities who use up so many resources thinking they have the authority to tell others what to do.
Comment by Kate April 24, 2007 @ 1:22 pmI’m becoming more and more disappointed in this site. First it was the horrible post about putting a stop to the outrage to Imus’ horrible comments, and now it is a post that is about the horrible twist that right wing conservatives have placed on an admirable activist. The host of this site is obviously an ignorant right wing conservative. That’s sad.
