With her current acting gigs being few and far between, Mischa Barton has signed on for a new campaign which warns about the possible health dangers of too much sun.

The former ‘OC’ actress is the latest star to front Britain’s Superdrug‘s Skin Awareness for Everyone (SAFE) publicity drive.

She will pose for in-store posters and stress the need for protecting skin from sunlight, which can cause skin cancer.

She’s actually doing something I respect for onece, it’s about time someone came out and told these dipshit girls that go to the tanning bed 3 times a week year-round that they’re going to end up looking like old leather luggage in 20 years…just look at Dina Lohan…

she looks tan in all of these pics! I hope, though, that this new gig will help get the message out. I’m still amazed when I see women with dark tans. Especially in the winter.

I know, 4PetesSake, and those cancer-bed shops are ALL over the place. In 10-20 years, there are going to be a LOT of leatherfaces walking around

I think she is well-suited for this campaign because she does have fairer skin and she has said in the past that she never tans naturally but uses fake tan. I would be the worst person ever for this campaign…I dread to think about what my skin will look like when I’m 50!

so true starr! young girls think its the WORST thing to be slightly pale in their teens or 20’s not realising that they’re still going to want to look hot in their 30’s!

I think this is a good campaign but would be better if mischa was wearing a t-shirt!
